Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Global will be celebrating World Oceans day with a fun filled webinar on 8 June at 16:00 – 17:00 UTC on Zoom. Join ocean experts from Reef Relief to learn more about threats to our oceans and actions we can take to help. Roots & Shoots groups will be sharing some of their projects they are conducting to help oceans and ocean wildlife, and participants can look forward to exciting activities with our hosts, Carissa Welton and Laura Hernandez.
Meet our co-hosts:
Carissa Welton:
The Blue Marble Series is a collection of ocean exploration stories and “Deep Dive” ocean literacy activities for “Sea Huggers” everywhere. Enjoy a short activity from the first book in the series, Beneath the Surface, with creator, Carissa Welton, who found her inspiration for the story from SCUBA diving in Asia and mentoring Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots groups in China. World Ocean Day participants will have a chance to interact with the story through various individual and collaborative activities.
