Roots & Shoots Austria: Empowering Educators Across Borders with DP World

Roots & Shoots Austria – Empowering Educators Across Borders

At Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots, we believe that creating a better world for people, animals, and the environment requires more than passion — it requires action and strong partnerships.

That’s why we are proud of our collaboration with DP World, which has enabled JGI Austria, together with JGI Germany and JGI Switzerland, to strengthen educator networks across the DACH region.

This project achieved incredible milestones:

A 3-day cross-border training seminar for 11 educators, boosting practical skills to guide youth in creating impactful local projects
Development of 3 joint workshops, 3 national adaptations, and a commitment to 11 new workshops for local action
Sharing more than 15 educational resources, including a digital toolbox and a webinar on chimpanzees led by a JGI anthropologist
A 100% confidence boost among educators to lead independent projects and workshops

One participant summed it up perfectly:

“Hope for a future worth living, thanks to the global Roots & Shoots network.”

This initiative sparked something bigger — an interregional educator network that continues to foster collaboration and support well beyond the seminar.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG 4 – Quality Education
SDG 8 – Decent Work & Economic Growth
SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
SDG 15 – Life on Land
