Building a Culture of Kindness Through Creativity
In 2024, students at SDN Joho 2 in Wates District, Kediri (Indonesia) took a powerful stand against bullying through their Roots & Shoots WIJABA school club. Their mission was simple yet impactful: to promote kindness, respect, and empathy within their school community.
As part of the “Care for Community” project, students designed and decorated anti-bullying posters featuring the message “NO TO BULLYING.” Each poster reflected the creativity and individuality of its creator, and together they formed a strong visual campaign displayed across classrooms. This initiative sparked conversations among peers and raised awareness about the harmful effects of bullying.
Empathy in Action
Beyond the artwork, the activity encouraged students to reflect deeply on how bullying impacts others. It became a platform for dialogue, helping students understand the importance of inclusion and respect. Community members also joined the conversation, recognizing that bullying is a serious issue requiring collective action.
Through this creative project, students in Indonesia are becoming changemakers—building a safer, more caring school environment and inspiring others to take action against bullying.
